Following residency training, Dr. Parker entered private practice at St. Paul Medical Center in Dallas where he practiced for several years. During that time he was also a clinical instructor in surgery at UT Southwestern and enjoyed teaching surgical residents from St. Paul and Parkland.

He later moved his office to the Las Colinas area and served as Chairman of the Surgery Department at Las Colinas Medical Center for five years. He then served at Chairman of the Surgery Department at Presbyterian Hospital of Flower Mound for more than four years and is the immediate past President of the Medical Staff. He has served on the hospital Board of Managers for the past 12 years.

Dr. Parker served as a General Surgery consultant to the Dallas Mavericks and the FC Dallas Soccer Club for many years.
